Of all the places in all the world, where would you like to be? Well that is a question that could asked to anyone at any one time. I think, personally, my particular choice would be a small town in the North of England..
But why there, it could be asked? The reason why would be simply that this former fishing port has an historical past and beautiful scenery ideal for a relaxing break away from the hustle and bustle of modern day life. Browsing the shop windows and taking refreshments in the local cafes and restaurants are an ideal way to pass the time, but for the visitor who wishes to stay awhile longer, there are endless possibilities for accommodation.
The Whitby hotels and guest houses are well chronicled in the various publications on offer but the hidden gems of this town are the Whitby B&B establishments which offer an important service in the accommodation sector.
As the town flourishes with a flood of visitors and tourists in the seasonal months, there is a need for supplementary accommodation providers and the bed and breakfast establishments are well equipped to supply those extra rooms when required. Increasingly, over the last few years, there has been a need for extra accommodation in the spring and the autumn in addition with the introduction of the Whitby Gothic Weekends and the expansion of the North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway events.
Whitby B&B comprise of a family home that has additional bedrooms which are let out to members of the public for various reasons.This, of course, can help to supplement the family income. It can be quite lucrative to let out a couple of rooms and charge a modest sum for the supplying of a room and breakfast. Not everyone would like the idea of letting complete strangers into their own home, but for those willing to offer such accommodation, then there are rewards.

Whitby has some lovely bed and breakfast homes available for the potential visitor. Many of the streets on the West Cliff are home to a wide variety of establishments.Each one will display a vacany sign to indicate that they offer accommodation with a tariff for such. Some will even have photographs of the bedrooms on display together with the room tariffs.
It is not only the West Cliff area which is home to many establishments, the East side, around the town and the outskirts too have many houses offering such accommodation. It is entirely up to the individual as to which choice is made but hopefully the visitor will return to enjoy the delights of Whitby town and the hospitality that is afforded to them. So back to the question – If you could be anywhere in the world, where would it be? After visiting the picturesque town of Whitby then possibly the answer would be …… Whitby!
