My progress with the recent sales funnels project is here.

The “sales funnels'” four free reports are finished and the affiliate links within them are currently being checked by someone Writing a report is such a pain: but will be worth doing a few for yourself so you can understand the process. Then, when you can, plan the report yourself and then give the plan to an outsourcer. A good approach is to plan the $7 report yourself first. Then get the writer to cut it down to produce your free report at the same time.

This allows me to create squeeze pages and get the emails on individual, relevant lists. To do this I will use OptimizePress to create a good-looking squeeze page in minutes. These squeeze pages have a lovely design and are much more likley to get the sign-up you want. There is a learning curve with OptimizePress, but it provides great professional-looking results. It has been made by a designer who knows what type of design will be effective – a rare combination. It is slick, clean, useful and well-maintained.

I tried getting an image for my popover done on Fiverr. I wasn’t at all pleased with the results, though. I saved time and money by doing it myself with Illustrator. Often, Fiverr can be excellent and save you money. However, it’s not always going to be worth your while.

Now, I line up a series of emails for follow up. I start with 5, then add more when I can. One of the free reports I have already got and the accompanying email series is up and running. So I can plunder those emails, modify them, and it will be quicker to produce my new ones – as they are all on the health theme.

The last three funnels are now almost done. After that I need to get my popover image to appear over the page. Then I need to split test other versions of the popover. For this I will use Advanced DHTML Popup. Advanced DHTML Popup has a split testing feature built in which I want for this project, but I also like the look of Popup Domination. However, if you don’t feel very confident about your ability then Popup Domination is probably best for you because it’s pretty easy to figure out.

Do think about using sales funnels. They are a great way to get customers from your free product to a cheap product then to a more expensive product. After all, if you are earning $3 on average for every person you drop onto your initial sales page, you’d pay $1 per lead all day long, wouldn’t you? That’s where you can use media buys. Once your sales funnel is ready to go – and you’re aware of how much you earn per visitor – media buys can pull in some traffic.

My testing software of choice is Testing Dynamite.

Get some sales funnels: or at least bear them in mind for when you are a little further down the line. They are golden.
