It has sometimes been mentioned that aging is unavoidable, but that looking old is optional! Even though we all grow old, we deal with it in many kinds of ways, with differing results. So what are some of the tricks of those enviable individuals who manage to look vastly younger than their years?

At an early age you really need to take care of your skin. Remember to always use sunblock when you are out in the sun, and dress accordingly for the weather. Even on non-sunny days you can inflict damage on your skin. Use moisturizers and lotions to protect your skin and keep yourself looking healthy.

Many individuals credit living to a ripe old age to having a good sense of humor! A good sense of humor is often credited to living to a ripe old age. Laughing out loud is healthy. It increases oxygen intake and makes you feel happy!
Find and immerse yourself in hobbies and passions you take joy in. When you do things you enjoy, you feel a restored sense of energy and this can propel you into doing more than you thought you could accomplish. Clearly, growing older doesnt always mean that you have to slow down.

While it is probably something one would rather not think about as one ages, it can be beneficial to be aware of ones mortality. Why you ask? The idea of this is not to dwell on the “end”, but rather to make us understand that every day is important, and that life is a gift we should take advantage of in every capacity.

Make sure to spend your days with activities that you love and that make you happy. Maybe its a pet that keeps you going, or colors and music. Whatever it is, make your house your sanctuary, a place to get a way from the stressors of the world you are living in.

Looking younger depends on not wearing powder makeup and foundation. Although makeup is supposed to help people look better, it makes the skin less elastic and contributes to the skin losing hydration. It is okay to wear it every now and then, but for the most part try to just use mascara and lip gloss and avoid putting makeup directly on the skin. Some women just put on way too much makeup which actually makes them look dreadful.

As we get old, it is extremely important to keep up on consistent eye exams. As we get old, our eyes age too and are more susceptible to diseases such as cataracts and macular degeneration. These conditions reduce vision and make walking and driving more challenging, which can in turn impose danger to our selves and others.
A great a suggestion for you to thwart appearing older is to include lots of vitamin E in your diet. Vitamin E is great for the skin as it helps your skin maintain its flexibility. One of the tell tale signs of aging is flabby skin so including vitamin E in your diet will keep your skin nice and tight.
