War! Peace! Both are extreme poles! You get to laugh only when you have a peace of mind. But in this world of technology, we get dangerous days of escalating conflicts and peaceful activities. We people have developed the strategies of “Win, Win, and Win!” We don’t get love while we fight a war but we end in War when we fall in love. After all “Everything is Fair in Love and War!” This is the case with the film – “This Means War”. You won’t believe, I have watched the film more than 50 times through On Demand Movies on my CableTV, just for the comedy plot in the film. To say, my mother also watches the film with me in her leisure time.

The film – “This Means War”, released on February 17th, 2012, is a story about 2 deadliest CIA operatives who are said to be best friends turning to enemies when they date a same woman. They employ their incomparable skills and endless array of high-tech gadgetry against their greatest nemesis ever – each other. The film has three main casts – Reese Witherspoon as Lauren Scott, Chris Pine as Franklin Delano Roosevelt “FDR” Foster and Tom Hardy as Tuck Henson. I heard somebody saying that Sam Worthington was to play the role of Tuck Henson, but later changed to Tom Hardy. I bet I would have become crazier if Sam had played the role.

The other casts are few in number like Til Schweiger as Heinrich, who is a criminal from Germany, Chelsea Handler as Trish, who is Lauren’s best friend, John Paul Ruttan as Joe Henson, son of Tuck Henson, Abigail Spencer as Katie, the ex-wife of Tuck Henson, Angele Bassett as Collins, Rosemary Harris as Nana Foster, Grandmother of FDR, Warren Christie as Steve, who is Lauren’s ex-boyfriend, Leela Savasta as Kelly, Steve’s fiancé, Laura Vandervoort as Britta, Jenny slate as Emily, Natassia Malthe as Xenia, Mike Dopud as Ivan.

I could say the comedy plot to be the most enjoyable part in the film where the best friends and top 2 CIA operatives – FDR foster and Tuck Henson, wage an epic battle against each other when they get to know that they both are dating Lauren Scott. Yes you could say it’s one of the most predictable movies like many other American movies. But when the film has appealing casts like Reese Witherspoon, Chris Pine and Tom hardy, I bet everybody is going to enjoy it. Plus the movie can be said to be a right blend of romance, comedy and sometimes action too that is said to be a bounded package of best entertainment. It is a film that can be enjoyed by all age groups.

At first, whenever I select any films that I have already watched for watching On Demand, my mom use to yell at me and asks me to read my subjects. But in the case of “This Means War”, I was shocked that my mom asked me to select it for the second time though she had watched it the previous week. She found the comedy in the film to be a good relaxation for her. And to say that’s the truth. Who will not find it good when 2 best friends – tuck and FDR who are determined that nothing and no one can break their friendship, start fighting when Lauren enter their life? And the funniest part is that Lauren meets Tuck first and gets attracted to him but immediately when she sees FDR finds him also to be attractive.

If you ask me to rate the film, I would give it a peaceful 8/10. And my mother would rate it for something around 7/10. I don’t know if the movie exceeds your expectations or fulfills your expectations and I suppose it can be primarily because of the charm of the casts. And I think there is nothing else that can keep you entertained from the beginning to the end like “This War”.

Rita Dawson, being a freelance writer and active blogger, I love sharing my thoughts and experiences with the rest of the world and to source out some great services like the CableTV. I, like many other kids, love entertaining myself with my buddies turning every second in life to be funny. The amazing activity of relaxation for many people around the globe is to entertain themselves with movies.
