As with the ancients, rings today show not only possible affluence, but a person’s marital status, and different affiliations, as with military rings. The fact is that military rings show that you either are in the military, or used to be. This is a point that most people find quite appealing, ergo the raison d’etre of military rings.

Furthermore, this allows people in the service to discover each other off-base, thus reinforcing camaraderie and creating new friendships. It goes without saying how the civilian public responds to an individual in the military, as well – not unlike a commoner who might see one of the pharaoh’s generals in the common area of old Memphis.

Military rings are not merely about celebrity and status, either. They are quite simply beautiful reminders of who a person is or was, and of accomplishments and adventures that may have accompanied such a lifestyle. Usually military rings come in platinum, silver, gold, or palladium, a “sister metal” to platinum, and equally easy on the eyes.

There is the matter of cost to consider, of course. Such rings do not come cheaply, especially if one should decide to have a precious stone set into the band. This could include sapphires, emeralds, rubies, or even diamonds. The military ring is one more aspect that will garner a member of the service deserved attention.
